Saif Alblooshi adds another gold for UAE at Asian Youth Games 2025; raises medal tally to seven
Aysha Aljneibi claims silver as team delivers dominant performance
DUBAI/MANAMA – Saif Alblooshi has clinched another gold medal for the UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team, sponsored by Mubadala Investment Company, at the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain.
Competing in the -48kg division, Alblooshi’s dominant performance raised the UAE’s overall medal count to seven.
Aysha Aljneibi added a silver in the -63kg category, while Hneen Alkhoori (-57kg), Abdulaziz Alakidi (-69kg), and Ghala Al Hammadi (-48kg) secured bronze medals.
UAE at Asian Youth Games
The UAE’s campaign concluded with an impressive tally of two gold, two silver, and three bronze medals. On Wednesday, Obaid Al Ketbi took gold in the -56kg division, while Salem Alqubaisi claimed silver in the -62kg category. The jiu-jitsu competitions wrapped up on Thursday, with the UAE topping the medal table ahead of the Republic of Korea and Kazakhstan.
Fahad Mohammed Salem Kardous Al Ameri, UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, attended the event, congratulating the athletes and staff. He praised their determination and said their efforts embody the UAE’s sporting values and national pride.
Mubarak Saleh Al Menhali, Director of the Technical Department at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, commended the results as proof of the nation’s leadership vision and commitment to nurturing local sports talent.
“The impressive performances highlight the rapid progress of jiu-jitsu in the UAE and the success of academies and clubs in building a strong competitive environment,” he said.
Gold medallist Saif Alblooshi described the experience as both inspiring and challenging. “Competing in a championship of this size gives us valuable experience and motivation to keep improving,” he said.
